How good of a snowboarder do I have to be to attend MGT Snowboard Camp?
Generally, if you feel comfortable riding most of the terrain at your local mountain then you should also be ready for the camp. The camp does not teach you how to link turns, but it does help bring progress your all-mountain, park and pipe skills. Our coaches will either introduce you to the terrain park or help you progress to doing hard tricks over the biggest features in the park. Each camp pairs you with riders of similar age and ability so you can work towards your snowboard goals in an encouraging environment with great camaraderie.

Here's a checklist to gauge your readiness for MGT:

  1. I have never been snowboarding before.
No, MGT is not the right program for you at this time. Contact your nearest ski resort because they offer beginner snowboard lessons from certified instructors. And we'll see you at MGT soon!
  2. I have been snowboarding many times before. But I have never been in the terrain park. I would like to learn but I'm too: intimidated / old / scared / bowlegged (jokes).
Yes, MGT can help you progress and safely introduce you to the park or how to ride the mountain more aggressively. Each year hundreds of girls go through the program and pocket new skills and confidence.
  3. I have been snowboarding many times before. I compete in local events and I really want a lock of Leanne Pelosi's hair and learn how to throw backside rodeos like Tara Dakides.
Do it to it! MGT can help you progress. We'll egg each other on. You'll not only learn new on-snow skills but you can also ask us questions about contests, sponsors and get advice about the snowboard industry in general from riders who earn a living snowboarding.

If you're still not sure; check out photos/videos from our previous camps and see if you'd be ready for that action.

I have not been snowboarding long but I really want to learn park, how much experience do I need?
Generally, if you feel comfortable riding most of the terrain at your local mountain then you should be ready for the camp. Our groups ride mostly on intermediate through to expert terrain, both inside the terrain park and outside.

I am not a pro, nor do I want to become one, but I would really like to come to camp, is this just pro camp?
MGT is not just a pro camp. Becoming a sponsored athlete is not the most common motivation for our campers. The reasons are as diverse as Leanne's goggle stash; most campers come to improve their overall skills, some are nervous about the terrain park and need introductory guidance, some want to lock down the one trick that has been evading them for years and some want to impress or keep up with the boys club and are looking for female inspiration.

I am a mature snowboarder and I am worried that I will be older than everyone else. What is the average age of women that come to camp? Will there be other mature riders (over 25)?
Mature is the new immature! Seriously though; there is no cap on the age of a camper and each camp has plenty of riders over 25. Our coaches represent these age groups as well so relating won't be an issue. What, you're not in the Miley Cyrus fan club either? You'll do just fine.

Am I too young for camp? How old do you have to be?
Anyone age 13 and up is old enough for camp. You will be grouped with riders of similar age and similar ability - you'll have your own snowboard crew from the first moment at camp!

Does the camp price include accommodation?
Yes for the summer camp, no for the winter camp.

Does the camp price include lift tickets?
No, but we tend to have special discounts at our resort partners. However, your discount might be greater if you are a student or have a promotional "resort card".

Why don't you have more camps?
Unfortunately there are few weekends available during the snowboard season that are free from major snowboard contests or not during prime filming and photography time. This limits which dates we can run our program and where. Our coaches are active pro snowboarders who juggle their time between traveling, contests, photo shoots, sponsor commitments etc. and our program schedule is built around this.

I am vegan. Can camp lunches accommodate my diet?
Of course. Just let us know about your special diet needs in advance. Contact us or include it in the registration form.

Does Robin Van Gyn really have DD boobs? Or is that just urban legend? I have a serious girl crush on her and I was wondering if you offer a Robin look-a-like mask or a Robin scent perfume?
First off, congratulations on selecting Robin as your girl crush. Out of all our coaches, she was lagging in the girl crush department and was hanging her head low every time one of the other coaches boasted about the cupcakes someone shipped them or they received origami creations made to look like their face. Robin's chest size is currently debatable while we collect a panel of experts to properly evaluate. And lastly, currently we do not offer a Robin mask or a Robin scented perfume although those are both great suggestions. Instead we can provide a reasonable hand drawn simile of what she looks like when she wakes up or some dental floss she used once.
