Double corks are the buzz word in halfpipe competitions right now. They're not associated with the woman's side of snowboarding but Torah Bright has leaked that she might have a cork or two up her sleeve for Winter X Games 14 (Jan.28-31 in Aspen, CO).

Double cork is double the Torah.

Suicide Six was the name of the first ski hill to allow snowboarding back in 1982 and - - simultaneously - - held the first National Snowboarding Championships. Ahhhh...Suicide Six... snowboarding was keepin' it pretty fierce from the beginning. I dug this trivia up as I prepare for my media gig at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Make plans to go to Cypress Mtn., Vancouver in February.... it's gonna be top chop!

This holiday season I had a chance to introduce snowboarding to someone who has never strapped in and never been on snow. Alanna is a super fresh performer and works the mic in the make-you-dance duo BONJAY. She was in Calgary performing at the Hi Fi Club and one thing led to another and we agreed to trade her mic in for a stick the next day. I am amazed at how quickly some people learn and how permanent the smile is on their face as they sample their first dose of sliding on snow. Here is Alanna and her infectious perma-smile. Listen to Alanna's off snow talents here. Spread the shred this holiday season!

Despite the front edge snow collection, a scorpion was avoided. MGT has a scorpion-free policy, people!
